Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course on Lantau Island is a 27 hole facility (in 1992 a new nine joined the eighteen that opened in 1984) consisting of the par-36 Diamond course (3,325 yards), the par-36 Ruby course (3,348) and the par-35 Jade course (3,257). The Diamond-Ruby is the original layout, set seven hundred feet above the South Hongkong Sea and offering spectacular views of Hong Kong's harbor and the Central skyline. It's a tough mountain course whose narrow fairways invariably encourage shots toward trees or deep gullies .Discovery Bay is on the east coast of Lantau Island and is a car-free zone, accessible only by ferry.

Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club, Hong Kong -( 844 yards, par 27, 9 hole)

This country club Located on the Clearwater Bay Peninsula and surrounded by the South Hongkong Sea. About 45 minutes by car from Tsimshatsui. 9 holes, with a total yardage of 844 yards (the hole with the longest yardage has 122 yards), par 27 golf course with a covered practice facility and an extensive practice green with bunker and chipping area.

The Golf Courses offer wide fairways and not very intrusive water hazards. The greens are of medium speed but have subtle breaks. The Old course has distinctive carpet grass, though the other two use traditional Bermuda. The Hong Kong Open originated on the Old course in 1959, but since 1973 holes from the Eden and New courses have been incorporated for the Open course to create a tougher test, it measures out at 6,722 yards, par seventy-one.

The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course, Hong Kong - (6,000 yards, par 71, 2 x 18 hole)

The first ever public golf course in Hong Kong. It is situated on an island off the harbour of Sai Kung. These are 2 specticular courses with tremendous view of the Sai Kung harbour and nearby islands. Gary player design. This scenic course can be a monster with the wind up. Some narrow fairways and natural hazards make this one for the lower handicapper. In spite of this it is a very enjoyable challenge and must surely be the best value course in and around Hong Kong.

Shenzhen Golf Club, Shenzen, Hong Kong
Yardage A Course : 3.655 and Par 37, B Course : 3.465 and Par 35, C Course : 3.350 and Par 36

Located in the middle of the city of Shenzhen, this comfortable and very modern club has hosted the Chinese Amateur Championship three times. Humps and hollows have been added to relieve the course of its flatness. Some of the greens are undulating and deceptive, but all are cut for medium speeds. The C nine (3,246 yards, par thirty-six), which opened in 1990, works over hillier land with a mix of long and short holes, including a 600-yard par five and a 115-yard par three. There are eighteen water hazards in all, and some can't be seen from tees or fairways. The course has a gardenlike setting among tall trees and lotus ponds and is an easy walk. The facility has Chinese, Japanese and Western-style restaurants. The clubhouse includes a Japanese-style bathhouse, karaoke, sauna and mah-jongg rooms.
